Back SA Blue is a great way for you, your family, or your neighborhood or community organization to get involved in a worthwhile cause. For many years, through the San Antonio Police Officer’s Association (SAPOA), police officers have been donating their personal time and resources to worthwhile causes all across San Antonio.

Now, we invite you to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our men and women in blue as they reach out to and serve those in need, especially children and families. Our volunteer programs, all administered by Blue Cares, SAPOA’s community outreach initiative, have proven track records of success in providing services and resources to the underprivileged in our community.

Take some time to look through our programs – Project CJ, Blue Santa, and the Blue Cares Scholarship – and find one that works for you. There are lots of ways to help and we welcome one and all to join us in making our community safer, stronger, and better.

Project CJ

Project CJ (Caring for Juniors) is a food assistance program that benefits students who come from low-income families and attend Title One elementary schools in San Antonio.

Blue Santa Program

In 1976, the Blue Santa Program was created to help bring Holiday joy and happiness to families and children throughout San Antonio. During the Holidays, Blue Santa and his San Antonio Police Officer helpers deliver toys and other gifts to children from families in our community who are struggling to make ends meet.

Blue Cares Scholarships

The San Antonio Police Officers’ Association Blue Cares Scholarship (formerly SAPOA Benefit Fund Scholarship) was created in memory of Officer Patricia Calderon who was killed in the line of duty on December 27, 1988. Today, the Blue Cares Scholarship honors all fallen San Antonio Police Officers by helping deserving college students fulfill their academic dreams.
